Estimating spatio-temporal variability of aerosol pollution in Yunnan Province, China

Generally, areas with more anthropogenic emissions are polluted. However, Yunnan Province, located in the southwest of China, has experienced serious aerosol pollution recent years despite overall low and high vegetation coverage. To explore spatio-temporal variability Yunnan, this study retrieved near-surface PM 2.5 10 from 2017 to 2020 using random forest method based on Himawari-8 AOD data, influences meteorological factors terrain also considered. The results show that Province significant variety. Specifically, annual average whole province 39.16 μg/m 3 68.87 respectively, which mainly contributed by particulate matter dry season (November April), especially March April. And distribution here differs greatly north south 25° N as boundary season. From November January, level northern part is higher than southern, while it opposite February April, affected regional transport pollutant, rather changes local or conditions. • Aerosol concentrates season, varies a 25°N heterogeneities caused pollutant transport.
